Steve Eubanks is a seasoned professional in the field of Higher Education Administration who has also owned and managed small businesses, and consults on small business development and marketing. Steve's writings to date have focused on understanding generational dynamics in higher education, and leadership development, but have recently taken a turn toward a fresh approach to how we look at productivity, success, professional growth and leadership in American organizations. Steve believes that while leadership in American organizations has been studied, documented and discussed in excruciating detail, there is a lack of quality discussion, writing and advice on excellence among those in the groups that the leaders lead. What does it take to be a great employee, team member or volunteer?

Steve calls this field of inquiry 'followership', a term that has been used in limited ways in the past, but one that we hope will come to signify all those things that make 'the team' great. What makes a great employee? How does a company go beyond leadership and cultivate a great workforce? Not everyone in an organization leads, and even among those who do, almost all of them are lead by someone else to some degree. For all practical purposes, we are all followers in some capacity, and we need a examine how followership can be done well. Team Player is the first of a series of books that will investigate these concepts and discuss how they can be applied at both an individual and organizational level.
